Member Meeting for Q3 2018
Thank you to everyone who attended our Q3 meeting. It was a pleasure getting to see Pinterest's office in San Francisco and to talk about the most recent changes in the shifting world of immigration. Thank you again to Pinterest and and Erickson Immigration Group for hosting. As an extra bonus, the San Francisco Giants came from behind to beat the Padres in the game that WINGs attended that evening. What a great day!
Q4 2018 and into 2019
As the holidays are approaching, there will be no Q4 meeting for 2018. We will resume meetings in Q1 2019 with Electronic Arts hosting on February 5. Details will be sent out closer to the meeting date. Until then, have a great rest of the year!
Years in Existence
WINGs Membership is open to individuals and companies who have direct responsibility for managing an Immigration Program. Since our founding in 1997 we’ve continued to evolve and grow our network of immigration professonals.
Dear WINGs Members,
people have asked me how WINGs was originally formed. Well, it all
started when Adaptec asked me to attend the ACIP Annual Symposium in
June, 1997. Let me tell you, it was an eye opener! I had always been
the sole immigration person at the previous companies I had worked for
and felt that my co-workers and even management never really understood
the immigration "lingo" or the challenges I faced. I also believed that
many times I was reinventing the wheel and wondered how other companies
handled certain laws, processes, etc. The symposium opened this whole
new world to me! Here were over 200 people that understood the friend
story ("But I have a friend...."). They shared the same experiences,
concerns, and even frustrations that I did. I felt like I had come
WINGs is an invaluable resource for in-house immigration professionals. It provides an open and supportive platform on topics and issues that are relevant to the daily work of corporate in-house immigration. Through active email discussions, benchmarking surveys and networking meetings, WINGs definitely helps to strategize and develop solutions to the diverse needs and demands of in-house immigration management!
Being a WINGs member has been a great experience for me. It’s not only a fantastic way to stay connected to what’s going on in the fast paced Immigration world, it’s a terrific opportunity for networking and quick benchmarking. Of course it’s also great to find people who speak the same language and can truly commiserate with your day to day frustrations!
WINGs is a unique organization in which members are very interactive with each other, which provides an opportunity to build wonderful working relationships. I’ve been a member since the mid 1990’s.
